Windows 7 Ultimate After Updating Screen Looks Stretched Out

Hello everyone!

I recently unearthed an ancient Compaq laptop of mine and decided to upgrade it to Windows 7 Ultimate from XP to see how fast I could make it...just as a project. After (successfully!) installing Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit I noticed that the screen looks weird and stretched out. This was not a problem when the computer was running XP.

Of course, my first thought was to go into the control panel to up the screen resolution. The resolution was at its maximum setting. I ran a display troubleshooter. It detected no problems and said that my graphics card was up to date. This shocked me! The laptop has been sitting in a closet for 5 years for God's sake! The graphics card is a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter from NVIDIA. I've never heard of it. Anyway, I tried restarting, which didn't help. Hmmm...

Again, here's the rundown of my specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit (upgraded from Windows XP)
Standard VGA Graphics Adapter from NVIDIA

Well, thanks ahead of time for your help! If you need any additional information don't hesitate to ask!

Hello!
My first instinct would be to check compaq's website here, The drivers may say that they are up to date but the computer may have a special set for it.
Compaq - Support for Presario notebooks and desktops.
Here enter the stuff and look for a graphics driver or VGA driver.
Hope this helps
