WINDOWS 7 Ultimate installation Error Code 0x80070570 problem!!!

Guys i have this problem with my Toshiba laptop:
Several days ago my com crashed..when i started my computer on the very beginning on start up screen when it says windows is starting i get a 1second blue screen with some saying and my laptop restarts by it self.
So,ok i have Windows 7 Ultimate installation dvd and i tried to install it,everything goes well untill on the second line of the very beginning of windows installation 98% i get this message Error Code:0x80070570
I've read some forums people were saying that this could be a RAM problem,so,ok my toshiba have 2 RAMS x 2 Gb..so i taked out 1 tried to install-same error,putted in another slot-same error,replaced and putted my other Ram Memory in the slots same again.
So,is there any solution how to fix this?i can see in bios that bios is reading my HDD,not sure if its working,does that mean that if BIOS is recognizing my Laptops HDD that works 100%???Could be something else causing that error code mentioned above??

Follow these steps exactly to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Did Ultimate come with the laptop? Install only the licensed version using the Product Key on COA sticker.

Wipe the HD before install with Diskpart Clean Command

Problem installing Windows 7 Ultimate error code 0x80070570

I have read a lot about this problem on these forums and tried most of the things mentioned but still not working. I know my system specs pass the 64 bit windows 7 guidlines but here they are anyway; Custom built, intel i7 chip, Asus P8Z77-V LX motherboard, 16 gb 1600 mhz ram, GeForce 550 ti vid card, sound blaster audigy sound card (old), 1 tb WD 7200 rpm, 6 gb/s hard drive, 600 watt thermaltake power supply, antec 902 case.
Now let me say first that I just got this new computer about 2 weeks ago and had no problems installing Ultimate 64 bit originally (without sound card). It ran alright but the onboard sound is crap so I installed my old SB Audigy and the sound was much better but soon developed problems even though all drivers were up to date. So many problems (explorer constantly crashing and blue screens etc) I decided to do a fresh install.
So I used "Partition wizard" to wipe my drive clean filling it with 0's so I then had 1 TB of unallocated space (932gb). Tried the install and got to the format page, hit next but windows could not format the unallocted space and got the error "0x80070057 could not format the partition". So I went back into Partition Wizard and formatted it myself to NTFS, Active and tried again. This time it got to the "expanding windows stage at 1% but then got the error "0x80070570". I went back into Partition wizard to look at the drive and windows did make the 100 mb system partition but nothing else.
Long story longer I eventually tried installing it each time after doing the following , 1. removing the sound card
2. removing all USB connections
3. did MEMTEST all OK, ran for 10 hours.
4. Used partition Wizard to rebuild the MBR
5. could find nothing in BIOS that would prevent it from installing to the drive.

I am going to lose it pretty soon. The only thing i can think of doing next is to use DISKPART to re wipe the drive and partition it to 200 GB for windows only and try installing it again with maybe only 4 GB of memory installed ???

Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is my first post as I am a new member, thanks.

There's never an troubleshooting reason to wipe the HD with any more than CLEAN command, and that is only needed if corruption is suspected in the boot sector. CLEAN ALL is only for overwriting data so that it cannot be recovered using most data recovery methods.

Based on what you have related I would break it down to mobo, video (onboard if you have it), HD and OD, remove all but 2gb RAM to try install. Check the remaining connections on all other hardware - if this persists you're going to need to rebuild it anyway. If it installs then run it long enough before adding each component until you know what's causing issues. Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

Test also your HD with maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan followed by Disk Check from DVD Command Line on a full disk partition you create with the installer or Step 2.2 in SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation to create an Active partition to try install.

Based on your feedback there will be other steps if necessary.

Thanks GregRocker, What is OD ? So you are saying to remove the video card as well and just run everything off of the motherboard (video and sound) for now?? I have 16 GB of Ram = 4 sticks of 4 GB so without going out and buying a stick of 2GB ram which I would never use afterwards I kinda have to try the install with 4 GB.
" if this persists you're going to need to rebuild it anyway" This is a brand new computer, I guess I would have to send it back to them then. i probably did not need to completely wipe the drive clean like you said but I would still think that that should not be part of this problem. I am presently working 12 hour shifts until Monday so the first chance I get to do some of this will be on Monday, thanks again, cheers!

Strange though why it would install the first time and not install a second time around.

OD stands for optical drive.

Try it with a single stick of RAM.

Do the hard drive diagnostic as Greg mentioned.

Are you using a burned installation disc? Or OEM? Or retail?

burned disc, however I know this can not be the problem either because I have burned several discs and they all give the same error when windows is expanding. I will try the hard drive diagnostic first and assuming it passes I will then only use 1 stick of Ram, unplug everything I can (including video and sound cards) and set up a 200 GB partition for the installation instead of trying to install it to the 1 TB. I can always add the unallocated space later on. Thanks

The hardware concerns also pertain to what caused your previous Win7 install to degrade. After removing everything possible I would proceed with these priorities:

Is the Win7 disk smudged or scratched since you used it successfully? You can burn a new one or write to flash stick using Steps 1 and 2 here.

I'd first try creating a smaller Active partition to try install. If this fails mark the partition Active from Step 2.2 here: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation.

If it fails I'd run Disk Check from installer System Recovery Options Command Line, on a full disk partition you create. If there are problems with the HD run maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan.

Do you have the latest BIOS update? If so reset the BIOS to defaults, then check SATA controller setting, set to AHCI to try install first, then IDE mode. Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Ok guys I am not sure exactly what it was but something caused it to work now and I have windows and my motherboard drivers installed now, just got to get an anti virus program then do updates.
Here is what I did; I removed everything except MB, OD, HD, mouse and key board. I also removed all of the ram except one stick. I created a smaller partition (200gb) for windows. Tried the installation, it failed. Went into Diskpart to run DSKCHK but for some reason Diskpart could not see my Disc??? Even though my Bios, and Partition Wizard can see my Disc and the windows installer can see my disc. So sense I could not partition, run dskchk or anything else with Diskpart I tried the HD diagnostic that was supposed to be for Seagate but it did not see my drive either. I figure that it is the wrong program for my disc even though it is Seagate. So being totally frustrated I tried unplugging the hard drive and plugging it back in and then running a disk check through Partition Wizard. It did not find any errors (2 1/2 hour scan). So I then deleted the partitions in Partition Wizard and went back into the windows installer to see if it saw my drive which it did. I then made a partition in windows and it finally worked. You could have partitioned with PW. It likely needed the existing ones deleted then recreated which is best during any reinstall.

No I tied multiple times partitioning the drive with PW and trying to install windows but it never worked. Plus I also tried multiple times to delete the partitions inside PW to make the disc unallocated and do the install that way but that also never worked until this last time. I think it must have had something to do with either unplugging the drive and plugging it back in or the disk check by PW except it never fixed any errors. Just plain weird especially DiskPart not seeing my drive.

Could also be failing or badly connected cables or drive.

I guess but it is a new drive, possibly it was a loose connection on the drive as I never checked everything to make sure it was all tight connections when I first got the computer. Thanks again.
