Solved Windows 7 updates have stopped downloading

Hi, I have had 5 windows updates downloaded on the 17/7/2016, 3 of which are security updates, but they won't install. They just sit there and do not even start installing. Since then, no Windows update is downloading. I have tried a few times to install these older ones but they won't. I have it set to download automatically. Does anyone have a solution please?

Downloaded updates that won't install are: Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB3164025)
Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3164035)
Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3168965)
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2952664)
Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB915597 (Definition 1.225.2702.0)

See your running Avast.
Unfortunately been a lot of problems with it stopping updates lately

Please uninstall in safe mode
Avast Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for Avast Removal

MSE will kick in so dont worry about being unprotected.

Try updating again.

If that works , re-install Avast again.

and tried it and it seems to have fixed the problem
