Windows 7 with Battlefield 2 problem please help:(

Try this?

Hey Kev,

Try ripping the first installer. Save it in a folder (BF2 or whatever).

Then rip the others to the same location, but only rip the files .cab (they should be data1.cab, data2.cab ect)

Then try and run the installer.

Not sure if that will work, just throwing ideas around.

BF2 is compatible with Win 7 but not with a widescreen monitor

Initially I conclude that BF2 was not compatible with Windows 7. That's because I tried every way imaginable of loading the game and its patches (per the recommendations I found in the various chat rooms—including this one), and the game kept crashing. Then I switched monitors, from my new widescreen LG W2486L to my old non-widescreen HP f1903. That's all it took! Now I am spending every free minute playing this game.

When I get tired of BF2, I will go back and reload my other Windows XP games (which also crashed on my Windows 7 PC) and see if they work too.

Try a proper version compatible with Windows 7 OS. Or it will never work well.
