Hello,

I am experiencing a weird problem and I couldn't find a similar case.
I managed to install Windows 7 Professional x64 on a GPT disk with UEFI mobo which is I am using right now to write this post.

The problem is, I have a second disk which uses MBR, when I boot with my both disks connected, Windows won't boot and tries to run repair tool but it also fails. When I disconnect it, system boots properly. Then I connect it while Windows is running and it is recognized and an autorun window appears so I can use it.

Why I can't boot with both of them? Microsoft says if you have the boot stuff partition in your GPT disk then it shouldn't be a problem.
I tried to create ntbtlog file to debug the problem but it doesn't get created.

Anyone has any idea about it?
In linux you can decide to mount disks at booting or not, is there an option in Windows like this so that I can mount my second disk after I boot?

*Here is what I did in case someone is stuck at some point;

I used a USB flash disk for the installation, (copied boot folder and added bootx64.efi)
Formatted my disk using DISKPART and converted to GPT

--- First Attempt Failed
Connected my disk to ahci sata port
I used 'load driver' option to load ahci driver
setup finishes but after reboot it gives status 0x0000225 and won't proceed to post install

---Second Attempt
Connected my disk to ide sata port (in manual it says connect ODD to these ports)
this time ahci driver is not visible as it is not being used
setup completed without any problem and I booted to the system
Installed chipset drivers from AMD, restarted
Restarted again and connected disk to ahci ports
Windows finds a new hardware and everything is ok

Make sure your OS HD Drive is plug in to the first Sata port, & first boot in BIOS.

Windows Boot Manager is active in bios boot settings
Secondary disc only has documents in it and no bootable content
System disc is connected to sata1 and other is to sata2
changed places and tried but no difference

Problem is solved. The reason was there were logical partitions on the MBR disk. Windows cannot manage those logical partitions in uefi system and become unbootable.

Solution is to convert logical partitions of MBR disk to primary partitions and that's all.
