Windows 7 won't shutdown properly

Hi all just recently windows 7 64 bit pro wont shut down, it does all the normal stuff monitor turns off etc. but my tower just stays on as if something is still doing something...... I've scanned it to death for viruses don't think its that, because I dual boot win 10 and that's ok shuts down restarts etc.

I did have an issue in device manager AMDA00 interface had a downward arrow on it read somewhere to disable until was fixed but this made no difference with my shutdown problem ?

also in the regedit thing its set to 0, any ideas (feels like win 7 is under attack off late )

Hi web, what does happen when you select shut down in W7? Like you said that the screen shuts off but that is your doing, right?

Hi thanks for reply Boris, not sure what u meant, but maybe I didn't explain enough, ok so I shut down, things start to shut down as normal pc monitor goes off, but my pc tower doesn't shut down, lights still on fans still running for ever, until I hold start button to stop

If you have Fast Startup enabled in Win 10 I would disable that and see if it makes a difference.

Do you have a Restore Point or Backup Image from before the problem started ?

Fast Startup in windows ten is disabled made know difference still wont restart or shut down from windows 7

Run a System File Check (Option Two) to make sure you don't have any errors that can't be corrected.

When you re-boot Win 7 look at Event Viewer to see if there are any recent errors listed that might help.

Instead of holding the power button to turn the PC off, turn the monitor on to see what/if anything is displayed.

not sure if monitor turns off maybe just in "power saving mode" least that's what it said when I turned off on again manually

found two issues may or not be related ?, cant download intel (r) z87 lpc controller-8c44 witch driver booster 3 says I need ? just freezes pc at 53% ?

also I can restart from safe mode ??? what u think ? any help opinions would be helpful

Does it shutdown properly from safe mode ?

Your reported problem(s) seem to be changing, you might consider a repair install or clean install.

My suspicion is that W7 has updates to install and when you did a hard shutdown it put them into pending mode.
When were your last updates.
Shoot into WindowsUpdate log just to check.

for anyone out there still with this problem I have manage to solve it trying to solve another problem I typed task scheduler into win 7 search box and went to task scheduler .......... now this is where I cant remember what I did was a few kites to the wind but there must be something obvious in your scheduler list that I thought that's not right, anyway my win 7 shutting down and restarting as normal, since visiting task scheduler
