Hi guys,

So ive downloaded the newist BIOS for my laptop (acer travelmate 5720g) from the acer site but when i try to load it says FLASH.SYS FAIL?....so how do i update my BIOS?

and my laptop says it has up to 1791kb of video hyper memory....my question is whats hyper memory and how does it work?

One more thing...if i click on help and support and type in directx and then open the directx diagnostic tool it says i have directx 11....but if i run the windows experience index and click on "view and print detailed performance and system infomation" it says i have directx 10? so any ideas on what to do?

Thanks heaps to everyone who replys

Hi and welcome to SevenForums!

I guess you've downloaded the wrong BIOS.
I see Acer site and the BIOS update for your notebook: it is a ZIP file with a readme.txt file you should read for instructions.

I think the windows experience index is built using DirectX 10.

Hope this helps

Its very annoying that only the .exe file is provided and not the .wph or .rom. BTW I noticed the bios dates 2008, thats pretty old. And what exactly do you hope to gain with this update?
