Ok So I did more checking and found out that I did not have the most up to date BIOS. Apparently I was reading the release date wrong. It was listed as 08/06/11 where 08 was the year. A little confusing to me (and maybe some others as well) but this being the first time I've ever had to flash a BIOS you can call me a newb. That being said I did flash the BIOS and it was super easy after gathering all the facts and verifying the information. Worked like a charm.
Neither Elitegroup nor Microsoft lists a BIOS flash as a needed to run a 64-bit OS but it seems it is needed. If anyone would like more info about this all I found was right here:ECS X58B-A Review » Page 4 - Closer Look (The Bios) - Overclockers Club
In that article he does not use the latest BIOS update however I did and it works great.
Thanks, Greg for your effort and help.
I hope this is able to help others who have the same board or issues.
