Windows 7 x86 Ultimate Freezing (Prerelease retail)

not the RTM or a pirated copy i just got home 5 hrs ago from the "The New Efficiency " event in detroit MI. and i ran into an Old issue i did w/ the RC and x86 RTM.

it just Locks up after a few mins.

setup:

500GB SATA HDD (installed to)
300GB IDE (slave)
Nvidia Geforce 9500GT
2GB DDR2-667 Ram
ECS Geforce 6100SM-M2 Mainboard

i couldnt solve it last time i had this and simply went x64. but the copy they gave out at the event was x86 not a choice of X64/X86

You might be able to use the Key you got with Ultimate x64 if you can get a copy of it, if you have not activated this key you just got 5 hours ago. Do some searching !

In order to solve problems quickly and efficiently,
Please Help us to Help you by answering some basic questions
about your hardware, Win7 software, and what you have done already if
NOT previously stated in your posts.
What build # & Version of the Win_7 ?
x86 (32 bit) or x64 (64 bit) ?
Where did you get the iso file from ?
How did you burn the DVD ? At a slow x4 speed ? with Verify checked !
Any Over Clocking of ram or cpu ?
Best to have 2gb ram or less for initial install !
Suggestion, remove everything not essential to loading Win_7, from the system.
No printers, gamepads, second monitors, scanners, external devices, flash drives etc...
Connection between Video card & Monitor works best for install with a standard VGA cable !
Do you have a single OS on your computer or are you multi-booting ?
Are you using USB or eSATA to connect to any external HD's ?
How many HD's are connected to you system ? IDE or SATA ?
How many DVD drives are connected to your systen ? IDE or SATA Drives ?
Is your Bios setup configured to Boot from CD/DVD drive First ?
When you see HD's in Disk Management is there a yellow triangle and explanation point ?
Do you have a single OS on your computer already or are you planing on multi-booting?
Are you trying to upgrade a previous versions of Windows, if so What ?
Or is this a New Clean HD ? Have you pre-formatted the HD ?

I know this probably seems like a lot of overwhelming questions, but do your best
So we don't have to ask them One Post at a Time !

What is your PSU rated at... after searching your problem on google, it seems other users with your graphic card have had this problem, and solved it by using a bigger PSU... seems that the Nvidia Geforce 9500GT pulls a lot of power and could be responsible for the freeze ... just a random thought...
