Windows 7/XP dual boot safety after EOL for XP

Hi,
I administer a laptop for an organization that I belong to. The laptop was purchased with an XP Home/Windows 7 Ultimate dual boot system, which was needed at that time. I found directions for deleting the XP part of this installation, but am reluctant to tackle that task.

How much of a threat is the XP side of that laptop if the organization continues to use only the Windows 7 side after EOL? I'm hoping that we can leave it untouched and unused. The laptop is already 4-5 years old, and we don't want to stir things up as long as we can still use the Windows 7 side safely. Thanks. Judy

There won't be any issues with safety. MS is ending support for XP, but it will still work fine. There just won't be any further updates for it. Using Win 7 exclusively on the laptop should pose no problems either.

In short, Judy, you have nothing to worry about. There is no need to delete the XP partition, unless you need the disk space.

And welcome to the forums. :)

Thank you for your help. We definitely plan to keep the XP side shut down. Judy
