I have done a clean reinstall of Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 on and Acer Aspire 5738G Laptop that I originally purchased Brand new from a large trusted company.

I am having trouble activating "error code 0xC004E003"

I got that error using a product key a programme retrieved for me before I done the clean reinstall. I did not know about the product key sticker on the bottom of my laptop at that time.

The key on the sticker won't even type all the way so I can't even test that key, I had the same problem and with that key on the last install and was told i had the wrong ISO now this ISO is no different.

This laptop has been in for hard drive repair with new image, now I don't know what key the they used to activate. I would assume the same one(hopefully)

I had BSOD problems and thats why I have done a clean install which has fixed all the problems I had previously.

what can I possibly do to activate asap I only have three days to fix this?

....also....

0xC004F050 usually means that you've misread a character - either C/G or B/8 or Y/V are the most common.

Note that the following characters cannot be used - A E I L N O S U Z 1 0 - so don't bother trying unless you like the noise it makes :)
an O/0 is almost always a Q

If you installed the system using the manufacturer's Recovery media, the system should have self-activated, so I assume that it's been reinstalled using Retail media. You need to change the Key to the one on your COA sticker, using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page - you may need to activate by phone.

I did not get recovery media when I purchased this computer, the factory reset did not work. I downloaded the Iso and clean installed. This computer has had extensive repairs cosmetic and hard drive by an insurance company.

Follow Noel's advice in post #2 above.

The Product Key on the sticker on the case should have 25 characters in this format:

xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

Recheck it and make SURE you are reading it correctly.

Noel: I think his current install is from a burned ISO--the ISO coming from mydigitallife.info.

That much is obvious - there's nothing apparently amiss that changing the Key to the one on the COA sticker won't cure :)
The trick is to read it right - which 'Fix' obviously hasn't been doing, if the machine has been beeping at them while inputting the characters

SUCCESS! I would like to thank you all for helping :)

I am now fully activated using the product key on my sticker, there were three characters that were not clear I had to try all combinations. Firstly I had four characters wrong as #2 post stated 0/o are Q's

Thanks Noel you pushed me to really try harder with that sticker.

Be;ieve me- I do it at least once a week, and have to sit back, take a deep breath and start from scratch after putting on a pair of over-spec glasses I keep for the purpose!

Glad you're all Keyed up now - make a note of the Key as entered and put it in a secure place AWAY from the computer, so it will be available next time you need it.
