I was infected with a virus yesterday and while I think I've gotten rid of it (for the most part), one lingering side-effect (whether purposeful or not) is that I can't update my computer. When I try to use Windows Updates I get error 80072efe, which says the connection was interrupted. What's interested is that if I try to go to update.microsoft.com (how you'd update before Vista), I get a "connection was reset" error (with Firefox - different errors with other browsers). So something is preventing me from accessing the update server at all. Any suggestions?

Edit: Also of interest - while all browsers seem to be working fine, when I tried pinging google "ping google.com" from the command line, I got a timeout. When I tried to be more explicit "ping http://www.google.com" it told me it could not find the host at google.com.
