Hello everyone,

Yesterday I wanted to clean install windows 7.
(This because I have a problem getting the Windows 10 notification app, but that's a different story)

So after installing Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit (official version) I ran some automatically updates.
Several of them installed with no problem. After getting the Service Pack 1 update I had to reboot the computer again. Since then the Checking for update doesn't do anything anymore. I can click it, see the green bar moving along, but even after several hours, it still didn't find any update. So I think it's just not doing anything actually.
There is no other software installed. Besides the driver to make my USB wifi stick connect to the internet.
I tried several things:

* Reinstalled windows about 4 times (including format the HD). Sometimes it didn't want to download any updates anymore before the Service Pack 1.

History was indeed cleared, but didn't do much to remedy the problem.

* https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058#/en-us/kb/971058
net stop bits
net stop wuauserv
net stop appidsvc
net stop cryptsvc
The "net" action didn't work, untill I corrected a Path name for variables

regsvr32.exe mshtml.dll *
regsvr32.exe shdocvw.dll *
regsvr32.exe browseui.dll *
regsvr32.exe msxml.dll *
regsvr32.exe gpkcsp.dll *
regsvr32.exe sccbase.dll *
regsvr32.exe slbcsp.dll *regsvr32.exe initpki.dll *
regsvr32.exe wuaueng1.dll *
regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll *
regsvr32.exe wuweb.dll *
regsvr32.exe qmgr.dll *
regsvr32.exe muweb.dll *

The above noted dll's (included the * myself) got a message saying 'it was loaded, but the Dll Register Server Entery Point was not found'

A couple of years ago I also reinstalled windows a couple of times, with no update issue at all.
If anyone can help me, I'd be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

ASLO...
Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
