pls help. i was downloading a video thru real player sp, all was fine at first but then when some downloading error occured this problem started happening. i rebooted, and deleted the unfinished download file. then downloaded the file again and all was ok. but now every now and then my windows explorer shuts down all of a sudden. and whenever i open my vdeos folder it takes a long time for them to load those thumbnail icons. what seems to be the problem with my unit? by the way, when i tried to delete the unfinished download file, i cant access the realplayer downloads folder coz the windows explorer keeps shutting down. i deleted the file through tune up utilities 2011. pls help.

It sounds to me like you have a bad codec on the system.

Try downloading and installing an newer version of Real Player that may address this problem. If that fails, then perhaps a third-party codec pack will do. The Shark007 Windows 7 Codec Pack is the only 100% compatible Windows 7 codec pack you'll ever need.

And if you still have a problem, try this:
  1. Click the Start Orb :orb:
  2. Type "cmd" in the search box (without quotes)
  3. Right-click "Cmd" in the search results, then click "Run As Administrator"
  4. In the Command Prompt, type "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) and press <ENTER>

I already tried using SHARK007 codec. i uninstalled my KLite MCP then installed shark. but after an hour or so, while i was watching some videos, my unit went haywire all of a sudden and this message like "memory dump" came up and there was some numbers going on my screen and a very nasty sound came along with it. so i turned off my laptop right away then turned back on in safe mode and then rebooted. then i uninstalled shark and reinstalled KLite, and everything was ok agen. that was about 3 months ago by the way.

The SFC command is the System File Checker. running "sfc /scannow" in an elevated command prompt will tell it to scan your important system file for inappropriate changes or corruption, and will offer to fix any errors found.
