windows fax and scan

I want to use win fax and scan on windows 7 but cannot turn the thing off. I have the program set to answer fax automatically on 1 ring. so when I expect a fax I open the program and wait for my call. All ok till I get my fax and close the program, but it still picks up all calls coming in to my home. The only way for me to close it is to go to tools/settings/ and change the options to answer manually. this can't be the only solution. I have used mighty fax before on xp but they do not support win 7. help if you can.

You should be able to kill the process via Task Manager.

You could also use tlist from a command prompt to find the PID (Process ID) then kill to terminate it.
