windows freeze, usually on startup but not always

Hi all,

I am getting a windows freeze (no BSOD, just freezes) usually during startup (can occur at any time during startup) but can also occur at any random time.

fscheck is clear, memdiag is clear, temperatures are all OK

Attached the logs.

A search revealed that you are using nForce as the chipset driver, and that includes nvstor.sys as the storage controller driver. You are using a historic version of nForce .... of May 2009. You need to try to update nForce, as it contains not only the storage controller, but also network controller and a lot of other vital drivers.

Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, search for nForce, as per your motherboard's chipset specifications.

So, RapidPort1 Device is nor working, winch is controlled by nVstor64, a component of nForce drivers. And it results into ...... Memory corruption.

umupfumu, it is the main issue. But there may be some others, and only the major one is noticed by me ..... in that case we may need some further analysis.

You guys aren't going to believe this. So, I installed the new drivers last night, and I reboot this AM, and it doesn't boot up. So, I do a hard restart, and this time it boots. But now, the internet doesn't work. The RJ-45 connector light is yellow, I'm sending data, but getting nothing back. I can't even visit my router's home page at 192.168.0.1. If I plug in my cable to my laptop, the internet works fine, so it's not a router or cable issue.

Ok, so I figure I'll just roll back the driver installation. I went back to the restore point before. Internet is still broken, in the same way. I go back to a restore point from a week ago. Internet is still broken, in the same way.

I'm getting errors in the event viewer about not being able to obtain an address from the DHCP sever, but even when I manually set the IP address it doesn't work. I can't even ping the router. What gives???? Help!

I fixed it, sort of. Hmmm. I think the NIC was having trouble resetting, so I powered down the computer, unplugged it, and held down the power button to drain any excess power. Plugged it back in, turned it on, and I'm still having the amber light, but the internet works! Crazy.
