After I created a new catagory and gave it a name I started to add my contacts (the contacts will be a group that I will send the same email to all) to it. While i was adding the contact I notice that they also went to the ALL CONTACTS LIST. They mixed right into other contacts that will not be part of the group Im creating. Maybe windows live mail will not let you have a stand alone group of contacts. This is ok I can just click on the catagory name I created where my group of contacts are and send mail. Just wanted to ask if any one else finds this enconvenent.

There is a workaround. add the contact to all then make a seperate list once and use it.

IE [email protected] = [email protected]; [email protected]; .... (store it as a contact)

When you create the list all you do is type list

In WLM groups or categories of contacts are different from normal folders. Think of a group as simply some of your contacts having a common tag. It gets worse...when you export or try to back up your contact list through "export" function, it ignores these tags so you loose your categories. They will be saved, however, if you always "sign in" since they are duplicated at the website contacts.live.com.

thank you both for helping......I made a catagory and named it ADDRESS BOOK and added my group contacts to it......although when I enter a new contact and put it into my new address book catagory it will also go into that ALL CONTACTS list as well I will ignore it.... its not a good program for windows.... outlook express was the one.
