Basically I am downloading youtube videos which come as mp4 files, I then convert them with no compression with the program "Super" to AVI.

Now when I add the videos to WLMM they play fine and I can edit them perfect, but when I turn the project to a WMV file and play the video, some of the clips seem to be out of sync for audio/video.

Need help as I have spent hours editing these clips as I didnt think the conversion WLMM makes would effect it as when I play the clips in the WLMM portable player the problem doesnt occur. :(

What do you want to do with the clips after you have finished editing them as you seem to be rendering the originals unnecessarily? Also bare in mind that when you say you convert them to AVI, that is not a format. AVI is a container and can have upwards of 800 different formulations within it!

I think Mitch has a good point. But before you try to reedit them, I would save them in a different setting, e.g. "For Computer" and see what happens.

I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem I am having. I am currently trying to make a basketball highlight tape. I started the project on my old pc in Windows Movie Maker. I recently purchased a new PC and was able to transfer the project to WLMM. I can add music and video, edit, and play the clips... but when I try to save the movie I get an error message that says some of the clips are not usable - either because they are corrupted or because they are in a format not recognized by WLMM. One thing I should note is that it's not always the same clips that I get the error message on... and some times it's the adio. All of my clips are mp4 files. Can anyone give me any suggestions? I have spent many hours on this project and just want to save/publish the stinking thing!

.mp4 is supported by WLMM. But there seems to be some corruption in the files. I would try to convert them to e.g. .wmv. Format Factory is a good option for that. Unfortunately you have then to reedit the files. But it would be worth a try.
