I'm getting the same error.

It would seem there's a limit to the number of computers (or unique OS installations) that can be linked to an ID...

Only problem is, once you reinstall, you wouldn't have access to the "computer" to kill the link.

Any information on a possible solution would be welcome.

It's usually under "Control Panel\User Accounts\Link Online ID's" SoLoR.

I've not upgraded yet, just letting you know the usual path.

Yeah, That's where the sign in assistant is located.

Except, when trying to link an ID, it's giving the error message that it's been done too many times, and to unlink the ID from a previously linked device.

The best solution at the moment is to unlink your ID before you reinstall your OS.

That doesn't really help those of us who are already getting this error, but at least we can hopefully spread the word and prevent others from running into the same problem.
