Hello,

I've encountered a problem regarding my login. I have a Lenovo e420 with preinstalled windows 7 pro x64 and I've fiddled a little with my new tv connecting the laptop to it with a hdmi cable (fiddling basically means using it). I was going to say that my two users do not show up in the welcome screen anymore, but while writing this article, they did show up after, except that it took minutes for them to appear! However, after entering my password, windows takes very long to actually log in (more than a minute). Meanwhile, I've deleted the homeuser$ user, because I had thought that it could represent a problem of some kind (I know what it stands for roughly). It would probably be important to say that I have two video cards (an ati radeon hd and an intel hd) and that, after I eventually logged in and changed my card to intel hd, the TV screen showed up only and I had to change it the monitors to 'duplicate'. After restarting, the users showed up faster, but now Windows still takes ages to log in.
I'm sorry for not presenting this information in a very structural manner, but maybe you can help nonetheless. I should also add that, after restarting, both my tv and my laptop screen showed the same thing and as my windows wouldn't log in, I unplugged the hdmi cable, which lead to my laptop screen going blank :) So this is extremely annoying.

Any help from anyone willing to read so much?
Thanks

Hi, I'm thinking a video driver issue. Here's a link you can take a look at. I'll look around for some other possibilities to solve your issue. Did you check Device Manager for problems?

After eventually restarting and unplugging the hdmi cable, the computer started working like before. The problem is that I still want to use the hdmi cable, obviously and I don't know what makes it lag so much.
The device mananger seems fine :)
You haven't sent any link :D

Does this cable have a DVI connection at one end?I was going to say that my two users do not show up in the welcome screen anymore, but while writing this article, they did show up after, except that it took minutes for them to appear! Had to pull this apart to get a better look at it. Someone will get back to you shortly.
