Hi, I have had Windows Mail (not Live Mail) installed on my W7 laptop for years without issue. Today, it won't open. I can see the new mail icon next to clock and I can hear new mail arriving and I even get the pop up junk mail box....but I cannot for the life of me get the program itself to open so cannot see/read/send my emails.

I tried system restore but I seem to have an issue there too as only one restore point was available which was for earlier today and was of no help.

Googling hasn't thrown up anything I've found helpful....I see others having had same problem in the past, but I haven't come across a (non system restore) solution.

Grateful for any ideas pls? Ta

I have same problem as far as can't open WinMail on Windows 7 computer, after some November/December 2015 update. The program and its contents are all still there, but can't be opened.
I wd like at very least to be able to transfer its contents, but am really hoping I can continue to use it. Has anyone found a workaround or knows all the updates that caused this issue. I've removed the above mentioned update and some others, but still no joy.

I eventually had to pay someone to fix it for me Terri. They thought it was Glary Utilities program that I use for maintenance which had screwed up the registry. Was worth the £20-£25 I paid to get it fixed.

Thanks for reply, Ellie--seems like money well spent! Were all your emails still intact after the fix?

Yes, everything was as it had been before, they fixed it remotely in about 10 mins....money well spent as I had wasted many hours trying to fix it myself (y)
(I have dealt with the company on and off for 15+years so had no concern over the remote access and I could see what they were accessing on screen).
