Hi there I like to use windows media center on xbox but for some reason I cannot get it to work. I tried pretty much everything and I got it to work for one day and then it stopped working again. I have tried deleting old media center profile data, certificates, media center ehome folder, etc... I tried turning features on and off, restarting services, firewall, etc... NOTHING WORKS!

I don't know why it is like this but it is frustrating to have it connect perfectly when I test connection on the Xbox. Then when I immediately try to use windows media center it will say contacting... and then disconnect... "A connection cannot be established...".

I also noticed the media extenders are listed as a caution symbol before I test a windows media center connection on my xbox and then soon after they go back to a caution symbol. Lastly, I have noticed that the two new media extenders I added are Mcx4 and mcx5.. This should NOT be the case because I have removed all other extender appdata, program data etc...

So there must be some file somewhere that is keeping this data... Can you please tell me where these files are and how I can fix this issue???

Oh yeah here is the Event Viewer log I noticed:

Event 301:

Cannot send Media Center Extender software to Extender 'uuid:10000000-0000-0000-0200-0025AE7B4405'.
Error: The semaphore timeout period has expired.

Anybody have any ideas what files I need to delete and where they are located to 100% remove my old media extenders?
