Solved Windows media player does not work on my computer

Hi, I just made my own computer and when I tried to install windows media player all that happens is the little blue circle swirls and then nothing. I would really like to use this as this is my main music player.
Thanks for any help!

Click the Start button and type in the search box,
turn windows features on or off
There will be a suggestion that appears on the top at some point/ click on it,
Scroll to the Media section and Uncheck the box/ Click on Okay/ Boot when prompted.
Repeat the above and check the box to turn media back on.
Open wmp trouble shooter,
Windows Media Player Library: recommended links

What version of Windows are you loading Home premium/ Professional....
The two I listed come with wmp already so there is nothing to download other than a fresh install disk.
