I have Windows 7 and use Windows Media Player for music and videos.
Recently for unknown reasons, my Windows Media Player displays an error message and there are red x's next to the individual Cds / songs I have downloaded.

This error is also causing no audio or sound on my Desktop PC even when trying to play games.

I use system restore to fix the problem as this is occurring about every 5 days. Its a temp fix but not a permanent fix. Its frustrating to have to use sys restore every 5 days or so.

I could use some advice please.

Thank you~
