Windows SoftwareDistribution file causing backup error

I use SyncBack Pro for file backups of my main drive and others. Starting with the last regular backup, it's shown the following error (I is the backup drive):

\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\EventCache\{80795D73-5E72-4BD4-9902-9CA52F1CC853}.bin

Failed to copy from Left : Safe copy failed. Failed to rename temp file: File is locked (I:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\EventCache\{80795D73-5E72-4BD4-9902-9CA52F1CC853}.bin): The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process

I'm not sure what changed or why this file shows as being used, when none of the other files in the EventCache folder are. Most important, I'm not sure what to do about it short of booting into Safe Mode and trying to delete it - and maybe also the one in the main drive. Any ideas? Thanks,

I: is your backup disk? If so, disable your vrirusscanner and perform a backup.
After that enable virusscanner

While I can see how your suggestion puts my computer at risk, requires manual backups and a virus scan each time, I'm not seeing how it helps understand or solve the problem. And btw, it doesn't work either - I tried.

The question remains, why is this single backup file in use and what can I do to change that?

I thougth virusscanner was locking the file

Process Explorer use the find option.

Checking in Process Explorer, it shows as one of the svchost.exe host processes. Since the same file is in C drive, I'm not sure why it's now choosing the I drive version. I stopped the process, but by the time I tested the backup it had returned with a different PID and the error once again. I'm guessing there's a step further back to go, but I don't recognize anything like it in Component Services.
