Solved windows unexpected shut downs.

Hello for the pass few week's I've been having windows shut down on me. I get the message Windows has had an unexpected shut down. It says it will let me know when there is a solution. Any one have any idea's what may be causing this problem or how I can fix it. I have windows 7 and was wondering is there a program in it that can be run to diagnose the problem. I was having a problem with a blue screen but seem to have fixed it then the windows problem started. I would appreciate any help possible. Thank you lee

Lee mate might be an idea to post this in the BSOD section and you can add what they call dump files that some of the others might be able to pin down what the problem is.

Well good that something is working a last it could have just been some glitch who knows? But if the problem starts again mate go to the BSOD section.

'm still having a problem with windows shutting down and reopening.

I just found this How To Fix Blue Screen BCCode c2 (minidump file included) - Microsoft Community and another forum carinjurylawfirms with your problems it had no other advice. I also saw some other SF members named in there and I am wondering if you have indeed got a malware problem.

Now try this Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 it will run from boot up. Failing this you may have some luck running the other scans using this little ditty of mine and I know it is basically for data retrieval but as it has net access you may be able to run ADW from it cannot promise anything as I have never tried it but I do not see why it shouldn't

Setthe BIOS to boot from the optical when the machine boots it will show you ascreen with TRY or INSTALL > select TRY. You can of course remove the hard drive and any otherdrives when doing this as if the optical alone is the only drive left in themachine then the BIOS will only find it to boot from.

Whenit is finished - it takes very little time you will get a screen like in thepic .

Openthe drive you want > User and dig down until you get to the data / settingsyou may be able to copy / paste the material you want to an external source orother installed drive doing this.

Iam not sure if it will but I have recovered tons of data etc using this methodboth on "dead" or just plain drives that you cannot get data fromusing Windows.

Unexpected shut down still happening.

Windows has shut down twice in the last half hour. So I'm still at a lost as to what is going on with this thing. I'm open to any suggestion. Thank you lee

Hum has got me wondering if this is a system problem or not Lee and maybe a hardware one.

Just how long does the machine run from cold to when it shuts down?

I'm not sure what it is I ran a diagnostic test using the program from HP and it said every thing was fine. I wanted to run a test for windows but can't find any thing just the HP test. I'm on the computer about four hours or more everyday. But some times its very slow opening up the screen stays dark a good minute or so. This is because of the programs that start up at the same time I guess. I'm still at a complete loss what is happening or why. As a last resort I've considered doing a complete recovery. But I don't know if that will make any difference or not. Thank's again for your help its much appreciated. lee

Well Jack you can use this to try and speed things up a bit especially the part that wets up the start up programs.

I'm having no luck at all. I went to microsoft to run a diagnostic test but the page keeps saying I'm not running explorer as my browser even though I updated it to explorer 11. So now I'm at a bigger loss then before. lee
