I did the validation and I am officially running genuine windows! Hopefully I won't see that pop-up anymore!

I used the download center to install those two updates that wouldn't install automatically. They worked first try and I no longer get messages asking me to install important updates.

Thank you so much for helping me get everything back in order on my machine! I was really scared when the people at windows help desk were suggesting a complete reinstall of windows as the only fix.
