Solved Windows Update Fails

Error Code 800B0100

Did a reset of windows update, no third party firewall, and ran the System Update Readiness tool as well, with no help. Any ideas?

Which Update?
Download will have a KB number like KB2345678.

They haven't posted what update it is so how would you know that.

We also need to know th KB number to see what it is and why it isn't installing

Click the continue button and approve the validation to run if necessary. Then download/install.

Did you try a manual install of SP1 after the readiness tool or just through Windows Update?
If you did not try manual install click continue at above link and try the manual installation.

So hide the one update.
Then manually install the other two.
I would try the first one I listed as the first to attempt.
I would choose it first for no exact reason just a feeling and it is a lot smaller file.

Only try one install of one update at a time. When it is finished go to the next one.

Thanks for the link Hopalong, but no such luck! I've tried them all one at a time, and no luck! Manually as well.

I am going to leave a message for Niemiro our Win Update specialist.
I don't know when he will be on the forum so check back for his posting.

Niemiro will need the checksur.log created after ruunning this "System Update Readiness tool". You already downloaded the tool so run it again and save the log and upload it in your post.

Thanks Mike...could you please tell me how to find my checksur log? I know it is in the Windows folder but I am not sure exactly where to look.

After completion of it's work the tool create CheckSur.log report in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder.

This is what I found. I hope it is there. I have no way to check my system I did not use the Readiness Tool so I have no log.

If you can Drag and Drop the folder to Desktop in an open area. The folder will be easy to find to upload.

You may not be able to pull the folder from Windows.
If needed right click the folder when you find it and click COPY then PASTE the copy to your Desktop in an open area.
That will make it easier to find to up load to the forum.

I really need to go like right now Just one last post though!

WARNING! This fix was created specifically for this user! If you are not this user, do not follow these instructions!
@Basham: Ignore the above

Download the attached .zip file. Inside it, will be two folders, Packages and Manifests.

Create these folders if they do not already exist: C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages\ and C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\winsxs\Manifests

Extract Packs.zip onto your Desktop. Please place the contents of my Desktop\Packages in C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages\ and my Desktop\Manifests in C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\winsxs\Manifests.

DO NOT place the .zip file in that folder, or the folders themselves. Make sure that a lot of files are in each of those Checksur folder.

Re-run the System Update Readiness Tool, and get me another copy of C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log.

Also, please retest Windows Updates (with fingers slightly crossed, no matter how much we both know that that won't help! lol.)

Follow Niemiro's instructions and repost the new log.

Then Niemiro will check the new log.

Evidently most of the files needed were missing in the one you posted.
Not your fault the folder was not created properly and they just weren't saved to begin with.
This will give them a place to be saved properly when you run Update Readiness Tool again.
