Solved Windows update is very slowly

I'm currently 2h in updating a freshly installed Windows 7 Professional SP1 and I'm only halfway through!

From experience I know that it will probably take even longer because Windows will have to revert the updates which failed. I will probably have to wait 24h till this system is updated completely.

I'm pretty sure I can update my Arch Linux system, compile some big IDE like Android Studio and install it and I would probably be finished in 2 hours.

What is actually wrong with the Windows update? I've seen that I've downloaded about 1,5GB of updates. How can it be that it takes so long extracting so little files? The system is even installed on a Samsung 850 Evo.

How is this possible?

I use windows update minitool instead of windows update

You can use either of these methods you just need to manually install 2 or 3 updates to get things going

Review either of these on post #2,

I do not recommend any third party tool of any kind to download and install Windows 7 Updates.

Following ThrashZone post #3 should get the job done.

Ok it didn't take 24h because only 3 updates failed. But it took me overall 4h just to download 1,5GB and extract those to some points in my system.

I still don't get how this is possible. Just image many zip files which sum up to 1,5GB. It would take me about 4min to download these. It would take about 2-3min to extract the files (10min max if there are really many little files) and another 2-3min to copy the files to an other location.
How can Windows Update be so damn slow compared to this? Are they copying the updates over and over again? Or are they using some old and slow compression methods? Or everything together?

No I haven't and I'm not going to.
I have used ThrashZone posted method along with many other members and it does work.

Obviously nobody gets what I'm actually writing about, so I'm definitely in the wrong Forums.

I should learn a little bit more about the update procedure in Windows, but from my current perspective the windows update is a huge pile of garbage.

You want to know why the update system needs 2-3 updates to get it working now and or why it's dysfunctional ?
Mostly because of win-10's development and release in simple terms
