I have just acquired a new laptop, and yes I already have a thread open to deal with the major Windows Update errors I have been experiencing with that machine. That is an ongoing open item right now.
While I'm getting things fixed, I figured I'd best also check my current laptop for errors.
Here's the good news:
-Current behavior is normal
-Windows update History does not show any errors
-SFC Verify Only shows no errors
-SUR Tool shows no errors
Here's the other news:
-WindowsUpdate Log shows multiple error entries. The first reference to an error I found was "CBS called Error with 0x800f0816."
-CBSpersist logs also show multiple error entries. In the oldest log (2/21/2015), the first reference to an error was "HRESULT = 0x80070490 - ERROR_NOT_FOUND."
Since I don't really know how to read log files, I can't tell if I have a significant problem or not. If I do, I'd like to fix it sooner rather than later. If one of you experts would be willing to take a look at my logs and give me advice, I would really appreciate it
I will post system specs plus the appropriate log files in subsequent posts. Since I am NOT facing a catastrophic issue right now, please help the folks with broken machines first.
