Howdy.

I've just installed a fresh copy of windows 7 on my computer. Now when I go to install updates it just hangs on the checking for updates screen and doesn't find any updates.

Thanks

Hi,
When manually installing updates you need to switch your update settings to Never check for updates and restart the machine first.

Make sure KB3020369 is installed if not manually install it this is the main article page with all versions,

These other links do prompt you to download as soon as you click on them just to give you a heads up :)

Then manually install KB3172605 main article page with all versions,

This is totally normal for now, it could take an entire day or more to find and download updates, just let it run overnight and check it when you wake up, make sure it`s set not to sleep or hibernate.

Hi,
In an abnormal world it would be considered normal to wait all night to search for updates :D
Having both of these installed KB3020369 & KB3172605 makes the search take minutes and not hours....
