Just as the title says. It is stuck on 0%. I waited for 30 minutes but no changes.
Except for totally random BSOD caused by ntoskrnl.exe (SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED).

One thing which I noticed was that it still wanted me to install updates while shutting down my computer.

Thanks for the reply. I will do it, I just bought the DVD for it, but I still have problems with Windows Update.
It is always stuck on 0%

EDIT: It seems it stays on 0% until it reaches 90%
Well thats odd, but it seems it has finally downloaded the updates.

EDIT2: I left my computer to install updates, when I came back, I saw my computer had BSOD, again while installing updates.

Dafix,

If you tell Win 7 to not update, THEN
do you still get BSODs?

The idea here is that your BSODs are the fundamental problem that needs to be solved.

You can help us out some by filling out your system specs.

Use the following procedure and SPECCY so that we will know a little more about your system.

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
(left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

Add the word laptop or desktop or netbook to the
“system manufacturer” block, for example,
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

To help us rule out some other possibilities:

What antivirus/security software are you using?

The following info will also be helpful:

Install CCleaner:
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

list of STARTUP PROGRAMS

CCleaner | Tools
icon | Startup button | Windows tab |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
accept Startup.txt as file name | SAVE button

list of SCHEDULED TASKS

CCleaner | Tools
icon | Startup button | Scheduled Tasks tab |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
enter Scheduled Tasks as File name | Save button

List of INSTALLED PROGRAMS

CCleaner | Tools
icon | Uninstall button |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
accept install.txt as File name | Save button

UPLOAD the startup.txt file
UPLOAD the Scheduled Tasks.txt file
UPLOAD the install.txt file.

I updated my system specs. Antivirus is Microsoft Security Essentials.

@seavixen32 I thing it is not needed, updates seem to be working.

REMOVAL OF P2P PROGRAMS

There are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

As long as you are using any form of P2P networking to download files, you can anticipate malware infestations.
