Windows Update taking awhile to check for updates?

It can take around 3-5 minutes to search for updates on W7, I've noticed it taking longer for the last past couple months. Is there anyway to fix it?

I think it's a general thing, and not just you. I've noticed it on all the machines I regularly end up updating as well.
