I bought a computer from my college computer lab that was tested running in perfect condition, It is a Dell Optiplex 780, the second one I bought from them. I wiped it and reinstalled Windows 7. Updates took 24 hours to download and install, out of 238, 29 failed. it asks me to restart my computer, after another two hours, I get a "Failure configuring Windows Updates reverting changes"
May I add that installing Visual C++ 2008 and 2005 fail when any program tries to install it. Any program trying to install dot net framework 4 fails too. Any program trying to register dll files throws an error that the dll file could not be registered causing the install to fail.
The other Optiplex 780 did not have this problem.
Any ideas?
