Windows updates not installing, or installing with no effect

My Mother-in-law's printer stopped working, and the hp driver install does not work. So, i figured i'd go for Windows Update, and after installing what would install, i was left with the following:




So, i downloaded the updates individually:

2574819 will not install:



2592687 tells me it's already installed:



3102429:



4539601 installs, reboots, but i can install it again without it telling me it is already installed. Tried twice already.

2830477 says it's already installed:


According to the kb download page, it seems to have some dependencies:

- 2574819, which is already listed above.
- 2857650, was not installed. I installed it without error. Now it says it's already installed:

- 2913751 is not applicable:

I'm trying to understand what is failing, and what i can do to install them. At the very least, what i can do to install the hp driver. Right now, it just can't find the usb printer. I have tried multiple times. It can see it via wifi, but i can't get it to do anything.
