Not sure if this answers your question but Microsoft have bought Skype because they are going to disable MSN and replace it with Skype, that's also one of the reason the Skype logo if flat now to match their new UI, every user will automatically go over to Skype if they don't transfer their account manually. That's probably why Windows Update also updates your Skype application

He posted some info as to a POSSIBILITY of why this might be happening (if in FACT it is)
But for the sake of peace and since we here in Georgia LIKE Canadians n bacon

Then reboot the computer. Does it happen again?
Also, go to the Task Scheduler, and post a screenshot of the expanded left bar and in the first folder.

Hello ROCKNROLLPIMP,

Yes, In Post #11 I was replying to you.
I just wanted you to know that the current version of Skype is not the version Windows Update is updating your version to.
I find it odd that Windows Updates is updating your PC for Skype, but it is not updating to the latest version.

In Post# 10 you said "do not like the newer versions".
So, I don't know if you want the latest version...

If you do want the latest version, you should be able to download and install it.

Seven Forums sent an email to you to let you know someone posted to a thread that you have posted in.
That's why you got an email.
You can turn that off if you don't want email notifications.

OK, understood.
If you do get 4.2 reinstalled, you can hide the Windows Update for 5.1 so it will not keep installing the update.
Let us know if you need help with that.

Yea, I also replied later to the Android question, so i can see how that could cause confusion...
