Windows XP Mode now accessible to more PCs

We’re announcing an update to Windows XP Mode today that will make it a more accessible to PCs in small and midsize businesses who want to migrate to Windows 7 Professional but have applications that still require Windows XP. Windows XP Mode will no longer require hardware virtualization technology to run. This change makes it extremely easy for businesses to use Windows XP Mode to address any application incompatibility roadblocks they might have in migrating to Windows 7. Windows XP Mode will of course continue to use hardware virtualization technology such as Intel VT (Intel Virtualization Technology) or AMD-V if available. You can find more information and download the update which will go live later today here.

Windows XP Mode is designed for small and midsize businesses. For enterprise customers, we recommend they use Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V) which is part of the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack for Software Assurance. Great, i upgraded to Pro today!! I wasn't really intend to use much the XP mode but here it is accessible to my processor.

the Xp Mode download page, force to the W.A.T (Windows Activation Tool, kb971033) !

Should i uninstall the kb971033 after install the Xp Mode/virtual PC ?

Well, it doesn't work! they must have forgot to update the files...!
At least M.S does know now it is a perfect legit version i have!!
Is it trap for pirated copies of Win7, or what?:sarc:

i suspect it probably is, as most pirated copys of 7 are Ultimate, it forced the update on me too, and made me restart my browser (without TELLING me i needed to, i just figured it out because when the page refreshed it told me to download it again) great news on this though, XP mode kicks Virtual Boxes ass so far,

Well, I am sure this will help a lot of people out who were unwilling to jump to another product like VMWare or Sun VirtualBox. It will be interesting to see if this improves the performance of XP mode in any way...I suspect that it won't.

Oh well, that's the best thing about alternate products.

Thanks for that. I hope this is not a stupid question, but I asked earlier on this thread whether XP Mode would be available under Home Premium, and i always suspected not, so why is Home Premium available under 'select your OS'. Does anybody know whether this new xp mode update means it IS now working under Home Premium? Thanks as always.
