Windws 7 32 bit or 64 bit

ive heard people saying that with < 2GB, go with 32bit, and with >4GB, go with 64bit

if i have 3GB, what should I go with? i think 64bit will use more memory due to the overhead or something? how much will this affect me if i have 3GB?

So if you have just max 4gb, you run 32b only, there's no valid reason to use x64 OS.

How can there be no valid reason?

Once you're on a 64bit OS, because 64bit can handle large amounts of memory more efficiently than 32bit,a 64-bit system can be more responsive...

Im pretty sure (i read somewhere) to use 64bit to its full potential you need 4gb of ram.
