What's generally used amongst the forum?
Had 7Zip on the CD for my motherboard so I installed that.

Winrar for me as well but if some files dont open with winrar they will for sure open with 7zip so i keep both handy!:)

WinZip is for sure the most limited compression program out there, and is the one with the poorest ratios in their native format too. Given the options, I would go directly for 7Zip.

My personal preference since many years ago is WinRar, which is quite similar to 7Zip, with a few different features.

Be aware that WinZip is a commercial product. It is not free.
I see that WinZip also sells a registry cleaner. Another strike against it.

My file manager has built in support for ZIP and RAR but when more is needed I use 7-Zip.

7-Zip. The compression ratio when you use the .7z format is far superior to anything else that I've come across.
