Hi all,

I am using windows 7 home 64bit, and i'm having trouble with my wired connection.

I'm in college now, and my dorm requires you to register your MAC address with them for your internet to work.
on my desktop I've registered for both the wireless MAC address and the LAN address.
Wireless works fine, but once I've started trying to use the wired connection, something funky happens.
The connection itself connects just fine, and I'll have internet access for about 3 minutes after connecting to it, then I get nothing. The connection is still there, but none of my browsers, skype, games can get any internet connection.

I've tried the same cord on my laptop, which also had its LAN MAC address registered, and that worked fine, meaning it's something wrong with my desktop, and that my dorm's wired connection is also working fine.
I've also tried to do things like ipconfig /release and renew, and i've also made sure that windows "obtains and ip automatically."

Now, here is some info on the hardware i use:
Acer Aspire AM3410-UR22P
internet adapter: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

When I type in ipconfig /all in the command prompt:

Hi

Have you tried it with the firewall switched off? If this works, you may need to try different settings for access through it on your PC.

What anti-virus are you using?
