Hello,

I just bought a Windows 7 laptop (I still have my old XP laptop). I am now in Las Vegas and trying to connect to LaQuinta's wireless network from my room. My XP laptop has no problem and stay connected all day long. But my Windows 7 laptop has been having problems. The wireless connection kept getting disconnected every few minutes. I have called LaQuinta Tech Department and they couldn't figure out why either and kept telling me it's my laptop.

Since I am new to Windows 7 and really have no idea how to fix the issue. Could anyone please suggest a solution or workaround so my Windows 7 laptop can stay connected all day?

Any comments/suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum silkphoenix, check the power settings on your adapter and uncheck the box for Allow computer to turn off this device to save power. Change main power plan to high performance and see if you get different results.

Thank you, DMHolt57, for your quick reply. However, the problem is the "disconnecting" issue happens while I am still on-line. The connection suddenly dropped, e.g. when sending out emails or loading any websites.
