Yesterday I bought a new desktop and I decided I wanted wireless, so I bought a TP-Link TLWN851ND wireless PCI adapter. After installing all the drivers I had internet access for an hour or so but then the download speed gradually went to 0 and I lost internet access, this morning I turned on the PC and I had internet access for a while but again I lost internet access. I've read somewhere that it might be a port problem (i dont know what do they mean by that)

Heres the ipconfig/all

You aren't getting an valid IP from your router because it appears as if you turned off DHCP in your IPv4 settings?

You can just right click the adaptor and choose properties, then scroll down to IPv4 settings, right click and choose properties again, enable DHCP there and save.

Yes you now have a valid IP because you enabled DHCP and according to the ipconfig you should be online.

Does the machine show up as online but you can't seem to go anywhere with your browser?

Is there any error messages?

Do you have a proper DNS server set up in your routers settings for DNS servers?

Still no internet access, regarding the router it works with my other 2 laptops so I'd say yes?

You should have left the original ipconfig, because you changed it, the DHCP being turned off no longer shows which adds confusion to anyone else reading this.

Well the original ipconfig showed the DHCP being turned off which relates to the original problem. ;)

Do you have any A/V software installed on this system? Which one is installed?

Can we assume that you set up the wireless to use WPA2 security with AES encryption?

Unzip and run the file below, let it run until your machine reboots.

Did you run the IPreset file?

Try this driver, it's the latest one for Windows 7. Be sure and set up the wireless profile in Windows 7 to use WPA2 with AES encryption.

I'm not sure about the dual band settings but can we assume you are using the 2.4 Ghz band? If so you may need to change the setting for the adaptor so it picks up which ever signal your router is broadcasting. Also make sure your router is set to broadcast in which ever band you are using.

Yes I converted that IPreset file from a .bat to the .exe and the software runs a little advertisement which is kind of cool. Good thing is I now know what the problem isn't.

Try the driver I posted and make sure about the dual band settings in the router and adaptor.

You can get to your routers page by typing 192.168.0.1 into the URL of your browser. Need to make sure about the security and encryption plus the dual band settings need to be the same on both the router and the adaptor.

You might try and install the utility software from TPlink which you can get in the link below.

In that case I'd say that you need to uninstall completely Avast. Most of these so called A/V's are famous for blocking internet connections. Use one of the Avast uninstall utilities for this.

That is probably because your ipconfig shows you have a working IP address, so you should be online but something is blocking the connection.

The router settings for security and encryption need to be correct. You were looking at the channel settings I believe.

Removing Avast would be my first move if this was me. ;)
