WMP12 discussion

I think prefetch has something to do with starting an application faster. The prefetch tag tells windows to do something so the application starts more quickly

LuzTeTT,

Here you go...there is a 64 bit version of wmp12 in Seven x64 Beta and as far as I know it has always been there in Seven. I also have WMP 64 bit in Vista x64 and the quality is far better, being able to produce studio quality sound as opposed to DVD through WMP.

If you go into C:\Program Files\Window Media Player you will find it. MS installs 2 versions x86 and x64. You will also see WMP in C:\Program Files (x86)\Window Media Player

I hope you took into consideration that I'm using Windows XP x64 Edition... but upon further investigation, Windows didn't install a 64-bit version of Windows Media Player. There doesn't even seem to exist a folder for it:

Perhaps I'm missing something. I'll upgrade to Seven sooner yet.

Yes I must be missing something! I thought this was the Windows Seven Forum not the XP forum.

WMP12 x64 two icons issue

I am having same problem with x64 wmp. I unpinned 32 bit, pinned 64 and ... I just solved the problem I think. I opened x64 wmp that is pinned. once it opened another icon, I removed first icon and then right click on the second icon and PIN it. Close WMP and open it with the icon and you only get one. At least I just got one.
