Hello,
Excuse any english mistakes please, english is not my first language.

My computer was turned off wrong yesterday (low battery), and this morning I couldn't start windows normally. I had to open safe mode and shut it down several times before it started normally.

Then internet wouldn't work, no explanation, although I get the signal, and I checked on another compter at home it works fine.
So i tried using another program that uses internet and started µtorrent, and it gives me the message:
"WSAStartup() failed, or you have the incorrect version of WinSock installed."

I tried copying the winsock from the other computer on my own machine in the C/Windows/System32 directory (didn't get the message that there was another winsock.dll file) but the problem is still here, so I suppose the other computer has not the same type of winsock.dll files as mine.

Please help? I have an important job to finish today...

Winsock is typically fixed by resetting it, no need to borrow files from another machine to fix winsock.

It sounds like you may have some system file corruption so try running the sfc /scannow command in an elevated command prompt, let the scan run until it completes, it may show some system file damage, if it's not fixed after the first scan then reboot and run again, may take three times.

After it passes the scan run the file below which will reset winsock and everything else in the network stack.

try running the sfc /scannow command in an elevated command prompt

Thank you for the response. I am not sure I understand what an "elevated" command promt is.
When I typed "sfc /scannow" in command promt, I get the message "you must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility". I am administrator... what am I supposed to do? Could you explain to me step by step how to run this scan?

The directions for opening an elevated command prompt are at the top of the page. :)

You didn't mention if the sfc scan found any problems or not?

I'd like to see the ipconfig/all from this machine if possible. :)

According to the ipconfig you are online with a valid IP. You might want to run the sfc scan again so we can confirm if there are any system files problems or not.

Have you tried resetting the router yet because I'm not seeing anything wrong with the connection.

It sometimes helps to delete the old wireless profile for this connection and create a new one.

You might try to update or reinstall the driver for the Atheros AR9485

System restore may help in these cases but last resort as it hardly ever works.

ok i'll do another sfc and give you the details. i don't know how to reset a router or how to tinker with wireless profile... but i'll reinstall the drivers for anything that has to do with connection and come back with the results
thanks

scan says: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

Ok resetting the router is standard procedure in these cases so do your best.

The wireless profiles are at the Network and Sharing Center to the left side of screen where it says Manage wireless profiles, not too hard to figure out, you need to delete the old one and make a new one. This, once again is standard procedure when you have wireless connection problems.

Not too sure about the blue screen but this system seems messed up to me as it's showing a connection but you aren't connected.
