No problem with a repair install per se but the running of updates to bring it current is an issue. How much time are we realistically looking at here regarding updates? Any idea?To avoid days of updates, 240+ and counting, and numerous reboots, use Dism++ | New Windows Utility.
Repair install failed at 99%. I give up on this one. I'll try a couple of other things but I'm tired of fighting it if that doesn't work out.
Just tried again with the same result.
Hi mjl1297,
Have you got any other HDD's attached [External HDD or USB]?
I am thinking about doing a clean install and running Simplix to reduce the updating time. Would that be a viable option you think?
Correct!Simplix installs all necessary updates and ignores the ones I don't need right?
After you have downloaded the UpdatePack, run it. It scans your OS for any updates needed and then installs them. It doesn't include any Telemetry or suspect updates. What exactly does it do? Running WU says there are still a number of updates to install about 150 to be exact.
Yes.Can they be disregarded?
Before I mark this thread as solved would you mind answering the following, should I permit WU to run and update the computer or just periodically run Simplix to keep my system up to date? How often should I run Simplix in the event you advise the latter course of action?
