Hello i just bought a new pc with this parts :

psu: Corsair Builder Series CX600 V2 600W 12cm Fan 80+ Bronze CP-9020048-EU
gpu: Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 GV-R785OC-2GD
ssd: Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5" Sata III Basic Drive MZ-7PC128B/WW
mobo : Gigabyte Z77-D3H
cpu : Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz 6MB BX80637I53570K
ram : Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz (PC3 12800) CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B

As you can see the ram is 1600mhz and i had read that z77 and 3570k supports up to 1600mhz.

But when i enter the bios its says that the memory frequency is 1333mhz.
Can i change the memory multiplier so that i can get the 1600mhz ? or i did something wrong when intalled the memory ?

And can you tell about the AHCI mode ? its recomended to use it ? or not? and in what its help ? ( i also have one old hdd 160 gb as a second hard drive)

I don't have a Z77 board, but if it's like a Z68 or X79 one, it typically defaults to DDR3 1333. You have to choose XMP in the BIOS settings, or manually set the frequency.

AHCI is recommended, but it's not life-altering.

I'm running a Gigabyte Z77 board (UD5H), you do have to tell the BIOS to use the XMP profile, I'm running the low profile version of the RAM you have. AHCI was on by default on my board, but that may not be the case with yours...but I'm pretty sure the Z77 Gigabyte boards all use the same BIOS setup, the only difference being support for more features on the higher end boards.

well thanks for answers, but is there problem using achi when i have one ssd sata 3(which is bootable with windows 7) and the other is hdd sata 2 drive. ?

And is there any solution to get rid of that 3d bios ... becasue my old monitor does not support that resolution so i see the 3d board broken... and i must go in the living room to connect my pc to the TV where the bios works...

bobkn when you say " AHCI is recommended, but it's not life-altering."

What do you mean exactly?

According to the motherboard manual, the 3D BIOS screen is automatically displayed if a mouse is detected. To switch to the standard main menu, press F1 (this key toggles between the modes).

It is recommended to use AHCI mode, and this is set as default, as it allows the storage driver to enable advanced Serial ATA features such as Native Command Queuing (NCQ) for drives that support it and hot plug. Other modes (IDE, RAID) may also be used if desired, but the advanced Serial ATA features will not be available, and you may see a performance drop.
