Apple has the right 'idea' with most things, just doesn't always get it right.

Examples;

MacBooks' - Price VS Specs - Price is too high
iPhones - Service Provider - AT&T was the wrong choice (most will agree)
iPod Nano 3rd Gen - Earphones - Seriously?
OS X - Mac Hardware Only - ARE YOU SERIOUS!?

I disagree with all of these (except the headphones, don't know anything about them). But on topic, the entire reason Apple's solutions such as the iPod and iPhone and Macs are so slick and work so well is that they control absolutely everything about all their products. The iPhone+Mac combo solution is an example of how seamlessly Apple can make their products work together. Other manufacturers will never be able to quite match it because they rely on too many corporations trying to do their own thing with different directions and artistic/design visions.

First off, the 3rd Gen iPod Nano Earphones have a voice/remote thing on them, so if you want your own earphones you need to buy a dongle adapter.

Second, Apple is a bit like a 'control freak'. I want to install OS X on my laptop and would gladly pay the $129 for Leopard (or $29 for Snow Leopard) to have it, but its Apple Hardware only! Why can't they make a PC version thats a bit different but still the same OS? WHY!?

iPhone - i would have called it 'Super Happy Fun Time Phone Yes Yes!! Number 1!' (the Japanese ver.)
Zune - Kinda dumb, what the hell is a Zune anyway?!
iMac, and all other products that have a useless "i" in the beginning of the name. - iHate iMacs
LifeCam - a name that consists of a double noun, is bound to fail.
apple products are all covered.... (iLife should be killed)
trying to think of more goofy MS names .... OH YEAH! Bing! self-explanatory.

You mean the shuffle? That's why I was confused. Yeah, not a huge fan of the new design either.

But Apple is a control freak, but it is why you can buy pretty much any Apple product and not worry about compatibility. And Apple likes to design their products holistically, to the point where their computer cases match the OSs color scheme. Can you really blame Apple for not trusting OEMs? I can't think of a single pc notebook that's as aesthetically constructed as a MBP. PC makers just don't give a crap it seems.

But anyway, tying this in to the Zune: the iPod Touch/iPhone integrates and syncs very nicely with Macs. I don't know of any solution on the Zune that works so seamlessly. I don't want to fiddle with software or waste time with electronics. They're the ones working for me. I'll pay a bit extra for a company that realizes that. (I think I'm a bit of an anomaly here. I'm not nearly the pc enthusiast I once was. It gets old. I've joined this forum during vacation to pass the time, but honestly, in my day to day life, I don't want to have to even think about making all my different devices work together. I'll pay extra for a monopoly as long as they've got their act together)
