Windows 7: Update is not applicable to your computer

Hey Guys,

I know this thread is really old, but I am having the same problem as mikeveli20 where I get a msg saying "Update is not applicable to your computer".

The update i'm trying to run is KB976972, which supposedly would fix a problem I'm having when trying to backup the "data" partition on my computer.

Attached is the "CheckSUR.log" file I got after running the Readiness tool.

Can anybody help me with this?

There is no real problem with your CheckSUR - it's normal for an installation with IE10 installed to show those errors.

The update you are attempting to install is for Windows 7 RTM - your system is at SP1 level and so almost certainly includes the patch already.

Please start a new thread of your own in a more appropriate subforum, detailing your system and the exact problems you are having.

The exact error messages you get, the symptoms, any other errors that appear.
What is the AV installed? - what other AV's have ever been installed? Have you had any infections?
etc. etc.
