Got a problem here. Bought new joystick decided to install Lock on. Game installed fine. there were issues with starforce but updating drivers helped.
The problem is, when i launch the game i get this error

Is there anybody here who tried playing flaming cliffs 1.12b on windows 7? i really really like this game, but don't want to install another OS to play it..

BTW, KA-50 that's made on same engine runs just fine.

Try running it in Windows XP SP2 Compatibility mode, and also turn off UAC. That might help. I am also interested in your results. I wouldn't be installing Flaming Cliffs but i'll surely be installing LOMAC. BTW, did the LOMAC install without Flaming Cliffs Worked?

Good Luck bro, ... btw i will be joining the installation nightmare soon as I am planning to install Windows7 this weekend replacing my XP installation. I'll have to get Falcon4 AF , LOMAC and IL2-1946 running in Windows 7

yeah, i tried everything, compatibility mode, admin mode, UAC has been off since i installed win7. i dont know what to do...i reinstalled the game 2 times in different directories, didnt help. also, i have the russian version of flaming cliffs. it's 2 disks, 1GB each, and it only installs flaming cliffs. i dont have an option to install lomac separately.

Ill be waiting for your results with lockon and win7. 0cx0000005 could be RAM memory, which would suck since i bought new set of ram less than 1 month ago..

Also, installation went fine. Just make sure after you patch the game and then update starforce drivers.

Here's an Updater tool: http://www.star-force.com/support/drivers/

BTW, i tried IL on win7, it lags like hell on my machine on lowest settings (specs under avatar).

Okay.. if its starforce issue then i guess.. it should be an issue with the LOMAC as i think LOMAC don't use starforce. But i thinks worth giving a try when i install Windows 7 this weekend i.e. tomorrow.

I thought the first disk is suppose to be the LOMAC and the second the Flaming Cliffs. I don't have Flaming Cliffs.

Even if its RAM i think you can get it replaced as it should be under warranty. You can use any Linux CD (Installer) and run a MemCheck. I think you should give it a try just to make sure your RAM is not bad. The MemTest takes quite long but in case your RAM is bad you should get the error very soon.

I'll surely post back after my stint installing LOMAC on Windows 7.

nono, star-force is fine. it works after you update drivers. the problem is in game exe itself.

Then i think it more than worth trying out LOMAC to see if it does work or not on Windows 7

I would not even bother trying LockOn without Flaming Cliffs... just a waste of time. FC makes turns turd into a jewel.

*I have not yet tried my LockOn:FC with Win7. I will probably try it, but have since stopped messing with Windows 7. it just isn't polished enough at this time..

Tried the batch file?

There's a batch file "lockon.bat" in the program folder of LOMAC that registers a service...

Code:
rem regsvr32 /s msxml.dll
regsvr32 /s MOM.dll

Running this allowed me to launch Lock On, subsequent launches only require runing the executable.

*Note that I had previously installed DX9 August 2008 updates

il-2 1946, falcon 4.0 on win 7

falcon allied forces installed no problems on windows 7, amd tri-core with nvidia 260gtx, and my 1946 game had same lag problem until i ran the "secure-rom diag" program i found on line..it fixed my .exe and it runs great now....so if you have the retail dvd, this should fix that problem (do a manual search/browse to your il-2 1946 launch .exe) fyi
