Photoshop 6 win 7 professional 64 bits

I got a problem when i try resize a picture on Photoshop 6 to 600x100cm and i got a message "Could not complete the move command why the result would be too big"
im already work with big pictures before and i never got that message.
can some one pls help me

when you say photoshop 6, do you mean cs5?

i press continue, and it still resizes ok.



how much ram have you got?

I don't think Photoshop Elements 6 is fully compatible with Windows 7. Elements 7, 8 ,9 are.

Edit: If it is PSE 6 you could try compatibility mode???

Please tell me you don't mean Photoshop 6? Cause if you do, I'm surprised you got it to install. And according to Windows 7 Compatibility Center - Windows 7 Compatibility for adobe photoshop 6: Drivers, Updates, Downloads it isn't even recognized

I don't think Photoshop Elements 6 is fully compatible with Windows 7. Elements 7, 8 ,9 are.

Depends on version of OS, 32 or 64-bit. Windows 7 Compatibility Center states 7 is ok for 32-bit, not for 64-bit

I believe people are able to run PSE 7 on Win 7 x64 but you'd need to try. You may need to look at possible issues with the ACR plugin?

I was using Adobe Photoshop CS2 under Windows 7 x64 for the longest time and it worked till I found that the meta data portion of Adobe Bridge didn't function correctly under said OS. That's but one example, I had other oddities as well.

Just because it installs doesn't mean all functions and features work.

Agreed.

PSE editor is a great value for money product but not supported effectively. Adobe's solution to bug fixes, for PSE, is to release a new version (with new bugs). If you buy MS Office, MS do support bug fixes prior to the next version release.
Versions earlier than PSE8 do not require activation making life easy for (honest) users. So if PSE7 works you'd want to keep it.

Yes mean Photoshop 6, i installed on win 7 64 bits without any troubles
i dont have any check box to mark only option is OK i hit OK and the "move" dont works.
My PC Core i5 540, 4 Gb DDR3 dual channel and a video graphics 1gb

I tryed the compatibility mode but dont work too

I think it's something with the compatibility of the OS 64-bits and PS632-bits some things will work and others do not

sorry, i've not played with photoshop 6 for a long time.

in 'preferences' is there a performance tab? have you allowed photoshop to use all your ram? are your scratch disks set up? these allow photoshop to use more memory when it needs it.

I already tried that too, since I got to put 80% RAM to PS for nothing, I downloaded PS CS5 trial to test if it works I think the way is to buy the new version

a good idea - photoshop 6 was released in 2000 - the software has changed quite a bit since then - it really is an improvement too, in lots of ways.

I would like to say thanks to everyone who participated and tried to help me with this problem, I'm testing the version CS5, and so far is going well any doubts that arise I'll post here

I see now. Photoshop 6 is 10 years old and before adobe rebranded to CSx.
CS5 will lighten your wallet.

Edit: you must have at least CS2 in order to "upgrade" - Adobe - Photoshop CS5 : Upgrade eligibility

If you don't have a qualifying product it's going to be $659 - Amazon.com: Adobe Photoshop CS5: Windows: Software - Unless you qualify for the student editions.

If you do - $189.99 - Amazon.com: Adobe Photoshop CS5 Upgrade: Software (though I bought it when had it on sale for 169.99)

Anyway if you get it and are still using the trial version, just pop in the serial number from the upgrade you got, when you open CS5 it will ask to verify the upgrade by providing a serial number of a qualifying product (CS2 or above), install the SN# and wholla -everything works - no need to reinstall

That’s exactly how I did it, and it works. BTW, In case you didn’t know, there will be two CS5 exe’s – 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

...and use the 64bit version of you want to use large pictures (as in op) - it can use more memory than 32bit flavour.
